Certification provides a level of proof that you take your career seriously and are willing to invest in your career from a skills perspective.

This says that you recognize that your industry is continuously growing and changing and that you recognize the importance of maintaining your level of expertise as the industry grows and changes.

In my opinion this aspect of certification is the most important and will provide the greatest long term value to your career.  This shows that you recognize the need and are willing to put in the extra effort to gain new skills.

I will be the first to call out the fact that certification does not replace experience.  On the other hand continuing education and certification again provides that level of comfort for your prospective clients or employers that you have the skills you claim on your resume, and also that you will continue to maintain this level of proficiency.

Have your ever?

Have you ever… attended a lean seminar or webinar with great presentations? You leave motivated and inspired and ready to apply everything that you learned to help your company's lean six sigma transformation succeed. But because of constraints and roadblocks placed in the way and limited implementation "know-how" your plans becomes impossible to implement.

Why Do Most Lean Implementations Fail to Meet Expectations?

"One of the primary reasons why lean transformations fail is the lack of 'boots on the ground' leadership. Successful implementation requires lean leaders that have been trained and coached by a 'been there, done that' lean six sigma, champion."
                                                                Bill Gaw

To be successful, lean six sigma leaders must have the lean knowledge, implementation skills, and professional coaching to solve all of these problems?

*  Too many challenges on his/her plate
*  Cultural roadblocks and process constraints
*  Problematic computer system integrity
*  Process and quality problem finger pointing
*  Supplier rejects and/or untimely support
*  Excessive non-value-added costs
*  Evasive business process solutions
*  High work place stress
*  Customer returns and/or complaints

Bill Gaw's Lean Six Sigma certification Program assures that participants gain the knowledge and implementation 'know how' required to solve these problems and more. And, Bill's after program e-coaching helps graduates overcome process constraints and cultural roadblocks.

Lean Six Sigma Certification Program
It's the "how to" that really counts!

"Bill Gaw's training is focused on the "how to." Unlike other training materials that tell you only what you need to do... Bill's training presents what you need to do and then he shows you how to do it. Much of my career success can be attributed to his personal coaching.

"Bill is one of the most prolific individuals in the consulting industry and profession. He is a true thought leader and a great coach -- one of the best. His advice is golden and he has the respect of his colleagues worldwide. We all religiously read his articles and news-letters because they are informative, educational and right on the mark."

Lean Six Sigma Certification Program with
e-Coaching by Bill Gaw

Objective: Provide professional "been there, done that", lean six sigma,
                 training for individuals charged with responsibilities
                 for leading a successful lean six sigma transformation.

Purpose:  Present lean six sigma, leadership best practices in a structur-
                ed program that provides individuals with the knowledge and "know
                how" to plan, implement, and optimize a successful lean transform-
                ation.

Benefits:  Your "Lean Six Sigma, Leadership Certification and e-Coaching
                Program" will help you and your company:

*  Improve strategic planning and tactical execution
*  Optimize operations and inventory performance
*  Eliminate supply chain constraints
*  Reduce work place stress levels
*  Eliminate non-value-added activities and costs
*  Stabilize sales and operations planning
*  Increase speed, improve quality and customer satisfaction
*  Exceed performance goals and expectations
*  Transform work into fun again.

Deliverables:  Lean Six Sigma Leadership,
                           Training Module, CD-Library

Each training module has between 35 and 56 PowerPoint-Plus slides
with commentaries and "lessons learned" by Bill Gaw

Strategic Planning & Tactical Execution -  Strategic planning is an effective lean leadership process that many companies employ to identify their critical success targets that set the course for future growth and profits. Lewis Carroll in “Alice in Wonderland” makes a good case for it: “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” said Alice. “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat. “I don’t much care where…,” said Alice. “Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.

Value Stream Mapping -  Maps and flowcharts help make work visible. Increased visibility improves communication and understanding, and provides a common frame of reference for those involved with the business and work process. Value stream mapping should be the first step in any lean six sigma transformation plan.

Performance Measurement - Financial numbers may tell us who's winning the war, but it takes a motivational measurement system to win all the battles along the way.  Remember, "without data you're just another opinion."

Sales & Operations Planning - How to improve the integration of sales forecasts with the production master schedule to improve MRP gross to net requirements planning and shop floor and customer on-time deliveries. (New)

Kaizen Management -  If your organization can handle only one change transformation at a time, then let it be the implementation of a “continuous improvement” kaizen program. There just isn’t any other more important program in our pursuit of profits.

Supply Chain and Inventory Management -  Material handling and storage are two of business’s high cost, non-value added activities. The elimination of the stock room, as it is known today, should be a strategic objective of all manufacturers. It’s time to realize that there is much more to supply chain management than simply placing purchase orders with the lowest price bidder.

Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing - If your management company needs to increase speed, improve quality while reducing non-value added costs this training module has the road map. Many of the management process improvement principles and techniques presented are applicable to all industries.

Thinking Outside the Box - Skills are required by everybody. Each and everyone needs to continuously challenge and expand their ways of thinking to enhance personal and business success.

   A supporter saying it better than we can::

"Bill has helped me a lot, either by providing clear and precise directions whenever I asked, or by sharing much of his deep knowledge in his Website, bbasicsllc.com. Managing, with excellence, the combination of sound theoretical knowledge with successful "hands-on" exper-tise, Bill is certainly one of the few persons I'd classify as "Mentor of the Coaches"!

Lean 'Knowledge' and 'know how'

During one of Bill's lean certification programs, Larry Franciscus wrote a very good "paper" about the Value Stream Mapping Training Modules. We published it in one of our LSS Forum Bulletins and below is an email Larry received from one of our LSSF Members:

To: Larry Franciscus

Subject: VSM Paper

It takes a real knack, Larry, to communicate with crisp and concise ideas.  I believe it was Mark Twain who said, "I didn’t have time to write a short story so I wrote a long one instead."

You have done a great job conveying the essence of Value Stream Mapping in a short but thorough method. You have eliminated the waste found in several of the books I have read.

Would you be willing to share each of your papers?  I understand if you would rather not. You have something of real value and could charge for what you have created. I would love to see and learn from your other papers.

Sincerely,

John R. Miller
Senior Business Analyst

Don't you wish you could write a similar paper on all of the Lean Leadership training modules in the certification program. As your e-coach, it's Bill Gaw's
job to make sure you can.

Here's what Larry had to say about the
Lean Six Sigma Certification Program.

Bill,

Thank you so much for the kind words. I really enjoyed learning in this manner.  It is not just the regurgitation of information. There had to be an understanding of the material to write an effective paper in 500 words. I will definitely take you up on your offer to help in the future. Enjoyed the experience and will recommend to others.

Thanks,

Larry Franciscus, Philips Lighting, Salina, KS
