Competitive Knowledge for Manufacturing People

August 14, 2006

Hi [[firstname]],

How often do we draw a conclusion without all the
facts? It's not necessary and sometimes a disaster
to wait for all the details and data before we
take a decision. Learning to derive the critical
balance is crucial to effective decision making.

Let's take another break from our day-to-day routine
and enjoy another story, "Make Sure You Know What You
See."

Have a nice day, keep the faith, and stay connected.

The Buick Open

Prior to the Buick Open golf tournament at Torrey
Pines Golf Club in San Diego, CA this year, they held
some of the qualifying rounds at my golf club in
Oceanside. My wife and I were watching the golfers
tee-off from the 1st tee and were amazed at how far
these guys could drive the ball.

One of the players was about to address the ball on
the first tee when the starter's voice came over the
loud speaker and said, "Attention! The golfer on the
first tee, please move your ball back to the blue
markers. "

The golfer looked back at the clubhouse, shrugged and
re-addressed his ball.

"Attention, the golfer on the first tee in the red
hat, if you don't mind we are playing the blue tees
today not the whites, please move back to the blue
markers."

The golfer waved at the clubhouse and re-addressed his
ball.

This time the starter yelled, "Will someone tell the
guy in the red cap to move back or he will be
disqualified."

About that time the golfer screamed back at the
clubhouse, "Will someone tell that idiot that this is
my second shot!"
