Gerry Bruno is President and founder of Gerard Bruno Associates, a management consulting and training firm specializing in planning, leadership, strategic planning, process and quality improvement. Gerry started his process improvement consulting career in 1979. At that time he was tasked with starting an internal Business Process Improvement consultancy. Over the next 6 years the consulting group studied scores of critical processes. Workflow cycle time and effort to complete processes was reduced by an average of 62%. He has twenty-three years progressive experience as a manager. He holds teaching certifications in Business Process and Cycle Time Management (Texas Instruments) and Introduction to Continuous Quality Improvement (SEMATECH). He is the author of “The Process Analysis Workbook for Government: How to Achieve More with Less” (ASQ Quality Press 1994). He is the recipient of the “Golden Quill” award for this work. Additionally, he has authored many workbooks and articles on quality and process improvement. Gerry is the author of “Process Tips and Tricks” which was a weekly internet subscription service. He is a regularly featured speaker at national and international forums on quality and process improvement to include the Institute for International Research and Global Business Research. Gerry has custom designed curriculum for a wide range of clients as well as credit and non-credit courses for colleges and universities. He has developed the “Live Fire” training approach to Business Process Improvement. This method roots training in reality and get customers results that frequently pay for the cost of training several times over. Clients send teams to training with actual process problems. Project results get to bottom line outcomes that translate to measurable savings. Gerry teaches Business Process Improvement at UConn, Boston University Corporate Education Center, Northern Essex and Bunker Hill Community Colleges. Gerry has co-developed the Value Added Transition System (VATS) business process improvement methodology. VATS combines field work and graphical process improvement software. This radical new approach drastically improves the effectiveness and efficiency of work flows. Gerry is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Municipal Quality Network and the Northern Essex TQM Advisory Board. He works closely with a wide range of private and public sector organizations seeking to continuously improve product and service delivery to customers. Gerry is a graduate of Boston State College, the University of Massachusetts Mid-Level Managers Program and the Massachusetts Military Academy.
