effective leadership skills and team empowerment.

Team Leadership
Are you an innovator?
The word "innovate" can be traced back to the 1400's.
It stems from the Middle French word "innovacyon"
meaning "renewal" or a "new way of doing things."
In our ever-changing world, as a leader, it is vitally
important more than ever to be able to spark innovation.
A hallmark sign of a great leader is his or her ability
to see a different way and to act upon it. Innovation
is often challenging, because it requires that an
individual move beyond his or her comfort zone, away
from conformity, and be willing to "fail."
So, how does one become innovative? To begin with, it
is crucial for you to get above the "blame line," by
starting to take personal responsibility for innovating,
taking risk, and for being willing to greet failure as
a tool for learning and growth.
Are you an innovator? Here is a list of questions that
you should be able to answer "yes" to in order to
become that truly inspired individual who can rock the
world:
(1) Are you willing to take a risk, and do you have
the courage to fail?
(2) Are you genuinely curious about what is going on
around the globe in your industry?
(3) Are you willing to challenge the status quo and
question authority when your gut tells you that
something is not right?
(4) Are you exploring your environment to find new
ways to approach a challenge?(Your environment
includes everything around you: people, processes,
office equipment, furniture, light, and the Internet.
(5) Are you proactive, initiating new projects that
get you and others excited about the future?
(6) Do you appreciate surprise, laughing, and
playfulness?
(7) Do you communicate effectively and with
enthusiasm?
(8) Are you hardworking, and do you champion new
ideas with tenacity?
(9) Are you unattached to "looking good" and able
to withhold criticism of others?
(10) Are you comfortable with constant change
and chaos?
(11) Are you resilient, able to "bounce back"
quickly after challenges and disappointments?
(12) Are you coachable?
(13) Are you able to see a relationship between
things that seem to have no connection?
(14) Do you surround yourself with people who
are highly creative, innovative, and brilliant?
(15) Are you willing to take the responsibility
for all your decisions?
If you answered "yes" to 12 of these 15 questions,
you should be championing a company change initiative.
If you’re not, then it’s time for you to select a change
initiative, put together your plan of attack and
start leading your team to achievements beyond prior
accomplishments, Remember, there is no status quo!).
You owe it to yourself, to your team, and to your
company.
